What did you do before this job?
Worked at Kennesaw State University for the past 4+ years as the Director of Research Compliance. During the 7 years prior to that, I served in both pre- and post-award roles of research administration within KSU’s central research office and other college centers.

What makes working at Georgia Tech great?
Everyone has been very welcoming and I’m excited to be here!
What advice would you share with fellow research administrators?
Always stay on top of what’s changing in our field and share your knowledge with others. Look for training opportunities outside of your specific area as it will help you learn research administration for the entire life cycle of a funded project and help you better understand how you fit in the big picture.
What are your favorite activities or hobbies outside of your profession?
Any time spent with my kids, grandson or extended family is priceless! I serve on the Cobb County Search and Rescue (SAR) Team as a Medic and am one of their SAR Instructors. I’m also one of Cobb County’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) Instructors and their civic training coordinator. Love to go hiking (both with my dog and training with the team) and I’m an avid reader.
Do you have any pets?
Currently have a 6 year old male Tuxedo cat and a 65 lb. 4 year old male German Shepherd / Belgian Malinois mix.
Do you have a memorable trip, adventure, or a favorite vacation spot/activity?
Love to travel both domestically and internationally! By far, my favorite country to visit has been Italy. I’ve been fortunate to tour Venice, Pompeii and Rome (twice).
