Please see the message below that was sent out this morning by Dr. Abdallah to over 10,000+ researchers.  He provided us with this update during last Wednesday's Research Administration Buzz (RAB) Meeting.  If you were unable to attend, you can access the recorded session by clicking on the "Launch" button once logging in HERE

Be on the lookout for updates to our OSP NSF webpage and creation of a new OSP Sponsor Disclosures webpage that will include info and links for the most significant sponsor policies.

Please help raise awareness about the message below and that our researchers ensure they are familiar with their sponsor's policies for what must be disclosed and where (e.g. Biosketch, Current and Pending, Other Support, etc.)?  NSF and NIH specific info links below:

NOTE:  Sponsor requirements may include certification by senior or key personnel that the information provided is complete and accurate; therefore, OSP is working on adding to eRouting a verification that all senior or key personnel are aware of the sponsor’s requirements.

Dear Colleagues,

As we embark on this new year, I’d like to share important updates with all Georgia Tech employees working directly on U.S. federally funded research projects.

For the second consecutive year, Georgia Tech is among the top 20 universities in the U.S. with the highest amount of research and development spending based on the annual Higher Education Research and Development Survey conducted by the National Science Foundation (NSF).

We are proud of our continued growth, and of our commitment to protecting your research while fostering an open environment with our collaborators around the world. As we continue to amplify Tech’s impact through our research, please be aware of the various requirements, policies, and protocols that govern our research practices. A few reminders are outlined below.

If you work on federally funded research, the following important updates apply to you.

  • NSPM-33 – what is it & how does it impact you
  • ORCID iD – setting it up & connecting it to Georgia Tech
  • Updated foreign travel requirements – when completing WorkDay authorizations and if you are traveling to certain countries, you will be required to complete a foreign travel notification to Research Security 30 days prior to your departure
  • Changes to disclosures

For more information, please visit our research website or email vprdo@gatech.edu.
